1. 3 copies of the passport and two passport pictures to your delegation leader
We request 3 copies of the passport which the leaders will carry on the trip.
--Sometimes shops require the passport, so we give one copy to the ambassador so that they can use it for shopping purposes.
--Two copies of the passport and the two passport pictures are kept by the leaders in case a passport must be replaced while we are traveling.
2. Fax in a copy of your passport to People to People office:
October 15, 2009, new government regulations go into affect requiring every airline to have a complete first, MIDDLE and last name on every airline ticket matching their passports exactly as well as the date of birth. We have added a new process to have each delegate’s family send in a copy of their passport to fax 866-566-9947 or email as an attachment to passportcopies@peopletopeople.com with a deadline of March 1, 2010. This will allow us to ensure names we are providing to the airlines are correct and will eliminate any problems for your delegates and yourself upon check in.
Six months passport validity is the standard requirement of for all programs because 1) the U.S. State Department highly recommends it, and 2) passport validity requirements vary depending on destination country (ranging between 30 days and six months). Also, different countries’ passport validity requirements can change without notice. For programs traveling to Russia and China, the governments of Russia and China strictly enforce the six months validity requirement: it is not negotiable.
